Without reading this post start to finish I would say wait until the end of the 09 model year. Then buy a 2500 as they new 2500 will be coming out and chances are you will get a very good deal.

i woul rather lift a SFA 2500 than a IFS 1500, but with a 4 inch SL and a 3 inch BL and 35s or even 36s is a great setup for the ifs. keeps close to stock cv and driveshaft angles and its a bolt on system. most of the 6 inch kits i see are cut and weld on. i like the bolt on incase i ever had to go back to stock for any reason. for your warranty questions its hard to say. every dealership is different. i know mine would allow it but would be skeptical on alot of the parts. they seem to think the truck is perfect as is from factory and anything you add is a waste. but the hell with them. stock is for pussies.......

Guys, I don't want to buy another truck! Just saying I wish I got the 2500!!!

Now, I'd rather just get a straight up suspension lift and not half susp. and half block lift. There have been plenty of answers that I wanted to hear which is....Yes I can do this to my truck and have reliability!

An 8" suspension lift is one hell of a lift. I don't know if you could even do that, and you would might need new shafts. if 6" isn't enough suspension lift for you, well...then i don't know

I say go with the 6" lift and 35's. This is a pic of my buddies 2500 with a 6" lift and 325/60/20 tires. So they are just a little over 35"'s and I think it looks amazing...

My neighbor has a 1500 4x4 and did a 6" lift with 35" tires. It looks really good. As expected, it will void your powertrain warranty.

Kinda stealing your thread, how much lift do you need to fit 35" tires on the Ram? Will they fit at stock ride height?

But where I to have your truck, I'd sink my money throughout the truck. Get some nice tires, and a leveling kit. Just like TANK's truck. Then add a bull bar up front, maybe replace the headlights, or do some performance mods to really spin those babies. Show how much power your truck can produce.

i don't understand how the suspension has anything to do with powertrain warranty?
The 33" to 35" tire cannot possibly void anything. Hell, I'll throw the stock tires on and drive it into the dealership if they are gonna be that damn picky! There must have been lots of prior Ram owners that put on 35" tires and had warranty work done.

I could see if I had 40" mudders on, but otherwise you's just be pressing your luck

Motorsporta, that truck looks sweet.
