Default Stereo question 2007 MegaCab

I bought an 07 MegaCab just before Christmas. It had everything I wanted/needed except for an input for my Ipod. My wife found and bought an 09 OEM stereo that had the Ipod input and I want to use this one. Are they an equal swap? Do I have to do anything for the Uconnect/Sirius options? Does the 09 have the XM capabilities as wellas the Sirius? Is this just as simple as changing them out or do I have to worry about anti-theft codes and such?

When I went truck shopping I did not even consider the Dodge since I had both Fords and Gm's. This truc is the baddest thing thing I have ever driven. Just wish the gas mielage was a bit better but all in all....I could not be happier with the truck.

I am not sure about the 09's radio, but I swapped my REF radio out for an RAQ and it was literally pull the old one out and put the new one in. If you look on the front of the radio in the lower right, there should be a radio code "REF." If that's there, then the radio should swap with yours just fine. Just a little note though, I changed mine out because I didn't like the fact that the radio with the aux input does not display the info on the stations - it just has the time and station number.

Now for my iPod I just use the Monster brand FM modulator. I found it's the best one. Even in a very crowded FM market like Boston, I rarely have a problem.

I don't think there is any XM in the 09, and even if there was, it is probably a separate box just like the Sirius is.

Welcome to the forum!

You need the REF radio with the aux plug in the front. This is the standard radio that is am/fm/single cd/aux input.
