Thank you to all of you who replied to my "totaled" thread! My Ram did end up being totaled and I was able to come away in a good enough position to get a 2009. Yesterday, I bought an 09 SLT set up like a sport, with the chrome grille but painted bumpers etc etc. The I will close next Wednesday on it. The deal I made has left me in a financial position to add a couple goodies. I will have about 2k to spend on accesssories of that a bed liner is a must and the wife says she needs step bars. Is there anything else out there that is a "must-have"?

exhaust is a must have.a truck cant be rolling around quietly. and get rid of the stock y-pipe and the stock resonators. just added weight that reduces sound. maybe throw on a intake, just because they might no tmake one just for your 09 im sure you can make one look good and fit from an earlier model. if they have a programmer youll need that for sure. lets see ive only spent like $1000 so you still have another grand. get the steps that are powered they look soo much better than the chrome tubes. unless you like chrome (i personally hate it and i try to get rid of all i can from my truck)

 

09's already have wheel well liners in em.
Id say exhaust, CAI, on body vent shades, (not in channel), and maybe look around for some nice aftermarket wheels

 

yeah +1 on the wheels. the 09s have some prissy looking wheels if you ask me. dont really match the styling of the truck

I say new wheels and maybe new tires, get the dealership to buy them back from you if you can. Talk to them about it. And exhaust would be cool. CAI. And then a nice aftermarket CD deck or navi system.

 

All of them have wheel well liners? That's nice. I say get a spray in liner and at least exhaust. I like my mudflaps so you should get them to go along with the liners. Tell us more about the truck. Hemi or 4.7? 4x2 or 4x4? Congrats on the new ride. Now you're not allowed to post in 3rd gen anymore j/k.

 

I would've tried to get the dealer to throw in the bed liner like other guys got their dealer to do. But it's probably too late now for you, mainly since you've still taken it.
It's your truck, you know the things that you like, or would like on it. But some things would be some performance mods, tires, etc. The truck should be in excellent condition inside and out, because those trucks look sick on the inside. Maybe get some HIDs, Hellas behind the grille (if you can, or there is a spot for them like the third gens.). I doubt they have hoods for them, but look for one like what Jay got for his truck, or a CAI.
