The guy across the street from me has the newer 4.7 with the 310hp. I have driven his truck before and it has a reasonable amount of power. Seems like a nice engine and all but he still can't keep up with my Hemi

Anybody should get want they want/need. But I'm sticking with the Hemi myself.

no complaints here with my 4.7. i guess if i had real deep pockets i could afford the gas for the hemi but for now my 4.7 does everything i need it to do. oh yeah and correct me if im wrong here but the "5.7 hemi" aka replacement for the 5.9 was built for hauling not really speed. hence the "dodge hemi will out haul any other truck" words in the original ads when the hemis first came out. since im only hauling a 12' utility trailer with a 4 wheeler on it im ok. some of you will disagree just my opinion (we all know about opinions) but any engine with less than 400hp in a 5050lbs truck isnt exactly a race car. most importantly i got lift and 35's and get in the 15mpg range. how much does the hemi get with lift and 35's?

I would like to run a hemi with my 4.7. I got an 08 with the updated 310hp with a 6-speed. I think it would be pretty close.

Yeah, the '08 4.7 narrows the gap a little until you see an '09 Hemi. Drove one about a week ago. Six week old truck, hauls a$$! I've got my '04 modded so it has a little more HP at the engine than an '09, but with all the added weight I have, the '09 would smoke it.
Handled great too, like a damn sports car, TILL WE HOOKED UP TO A DOUBLE AXLE TRAILER WITH A TRACTOR ON IT! About 7000 lbs. total.
The coils all around make it a great, car-like driver, but it don't haul worth sh*t! Way too mushy!
You want a light duty pickup that flies and corners, get an '09 1500. You want a work truck and a 2500 is now really your only option...

I just got an '08 with the 310HP 4.7 and I'm pleased with it. It's not a hemi, that's for sure, but I was driving a Ford with a 265 HP 5.4L engine. The 4.7 Dodge is a race car compared to the Ford.

The moped I used twenty five years ago for my paper route was a race car compared to a Ford...
