On a 2004 5.7 hemi pull-out engine how can one find out if the PCM has the optional (SKIS) Sentry Key Immobilizer System? If it does, can it be disabled and how?

 

Any ideas? Was it an option or did all have it?

 

I would think that the key would be of the chipped variety. I don't know if it was available in 04 or not.

 

remove the shroud on the column and see if there is an antennae ring around the ignition switch.

 

It's on a pull-out engine. meaning the truck is no longer around!!!

04 has the first version of Sentry, but first you need to find what model it came out of. ST's didn't have that option. SLT's was an option and Laramie's all came with the security group.
The only way to disable that is for a dealer flash. I know you can get a custom tune through SCT or Diablo and they can turn that off as well. I had my PATS turned off for my Cobra in one of my tunes incase I needed to use my valet key.
If you have the VIN, any dodge dealer should be able to tell you whether or not it has it.

 

Sorry about the confusion, wasn't familiar with the term 'pull out engine'. The only way I know to find out without the original vehicle or at least the VIN is to do an eeprom dump.

 

more than likely it does. most newer cars do.
