Sounds like you just have the regular HID kit which is only low beam and not the Bi-Xenon HID kit which is both hi and low beam. The wires on the kit could be reversed so the lights come on with the high beam switch instead of hooked up to the low beams. just a thought.

I've tryed as well to hook up a set in my truck that I had from my old BMW. I found that if I grounded the the ground to the battery it would light up but if it was just pluged in it wouldn't. I'm sure that the lighting system goes through a computer in the truck some where as my dash will tell me when there is a light out on the truck. I think that the voltage isn't enough to trigger the ignitor to fire up to burn the bulb. My bulbs are a 9006 style that I've modded to work, when the weather gets warmer I will be trying this again to see if I can trick the computer to send more voltage or add another ground to it. I hope this helps.

its low beam only. the high beam is seperate and works when connected. when i turn the high beams on the highs come on but not lows. so the ground was good.

its way too cold out for me to try it again within the next few days. thanks for the input. i'll probaly give it one last shot, and if it doesnt work, the people i bought it from are gonna get an earful.

my first set of mcculloch hids that were professionally installed didnt work either, then the mechanics friend said something about he had to reverse them on his car.. no idea what wires can possibly be reversed as they are all designated, however the one double wire that plugs into the ballast can be flipped over so the feeds would switch, but i already tried that too.

o yea and when i tested the lights in my house, i did direct connect the wires to the power and ground of a battery. so im thinking the ballast is bad
