Default HIDs a no-go after 6+ hours

alright, so i got the projectors off ebay, along with HIDs (please hold all non relevant thoughts). i bought em for light, not looks. they came together as a package, pre-wired and all.

so a friend and I have spent over 6 hours combined in the past 2 days trying to get them to work. the running lights, high beam, and angel eyes have all worked but the HID low beam will not turn on. is there a trick? ive tried re-wiring, testing the voltage on wires, etc etc. we just cant figure it out

btw i did try it with and without the resistors (bought that on the side after reading the blinking thread)

when hooked up i have the same voltage coming out of both wires out of the ballast both black and red. is that right? also i have the same voltage going into and out of the ballast. it says on the balast 9-16 volt in, 35 volt output

No clue on that. Mine were plug and play no resistors or any screwing around.

damn. im pretty mechanically knowledgeable too. so this is really ticking me off. all i can figure is the bulbs are bad, or the ballast. the bulbs seem fine, no black or burnt or anything unusual. my only thing is whether the ballast is supposed to be putting out the 35 volts, and thats whats keeping the hid bulb from lighting

My kit does not have low beam, just one setting that is 35 watts.

2 other notes:

1) kit does not come with an actual ground or feed to the battery

2) truck was never actually started to test, just lights flipped on and off

i got the same problem with my truck.. it seems that the lo beam is actually my high beam.. er.. meaning if your highbeams are on in your truck then its low beam hids.. u lose your high beam usage beacuse of the added power it takes to power the hids, at least i found that with my kit.. my kit was plug in play, no power to run to the battery it just ran a low beam HID with high beam normal h3 or h4 power.. hope this helps
