tire and rim question?
hey guys, i've the chance to get a good deal on some 305x70x16's but i wasnt sure if a 16" rim would fit with my rotors. anyone care to weigh in? i have a 2004 1500 QC with factory 20's. thanks!
you are going to need spacers to fit a 12.5 inch wide tire with stock backspacing. also its going to be tough to fit 34.3 inch tall tires on a stock truck. with a 2-2.5 inch leveling kit and 1/4 wheel spacers you can fit those tires with no problems. the leveling kits are cheap and a very easy do it yourself install. you could probably get away without the leveling kit but it will be tight. check out topguncustomz.com i have their 2.5 inch leveling kti and it made a big big difference in the look of the truck. 35x12.5s are my next big purchase when i get rid of the 33x11.5 toyo AT's....
Thanks NickaHern1
I agree that it should be theoretically possible to fit the tires, but practice and theory often diverge - hence my question - has anybody on the forum actually done it?

yeah 2500 is completely different animal. if your in the northeast area ( i live in MA ) i wouldnt mind heling you get a leveling kit on there one of these weekends. post up where you live and see if you are in an area of which a member here can give you a helping hand. i know a few guys that are respectable and wouldnt think twice of helping a member save $$ on having a shop do a easy install.
