Default Just joined and have a ?

I have a 04 full size pickup with 45000 miles. The radio stopped working, just driving down the street and it stopped did it once before i think it is a loose wire. But i can not figure out how to get the the plastic panel off, the panel covers the radio,heat/ac controlls and a cubby hole?

The secon issue is the interior lights stopped coming on when you open the doors, and i can not turn on any lights with out frist starting the truck. Once the truck is started all the lights work, fuses are good the bulbs are good, even had the battery cked it is good.?? I called the dealer they said it sounds like the battery, that is why i had it checked

Well they may be related, but to get the bezel off the dash, just grab it along the left hand side and pull firmly out. It just has clips that hold it on. Once it starts to come out, the rest will be easy.

Sounds like you blew a fuse for the radio memory and dome lights. Check all of the fuses.

Oh, and welcome to the forum

the 04 you have the screw behind the hook in the bottom right undo that then yank it out, miight make it a little easier to get off then not taking it out

As far as the lights have you tried opening the other doors. mine did that to me a while ago and they wouldn't come on when I opened the drivers door. i knew the problem but just to busy to fix it until the other day. in my case my drivers side lock accuator went bad so i took it out and removed the gear until i decide to buy another one. when i put it back in i didn't hook the wire back up and thus no lights. It may have something to do with your alarm. the are all wired together if you have one

he's trying to say that on the passenger side of the dash there is a little plastic hook type of thing at the edge of that bezel. that hook has a screw behind it that holds the bezel to the car. if you have that screw in there and you pull on the bezel thinking there are nothing but clips, **** will break. so check for that screw first. that is the only screw on that bezel, once removed, just pull the bezel straight out.

and welcome to DF

I rechecked all the fuses they are good. I disabled the alarm (the way the alarm book said) still no lights or radio (i cked for a loose wire no luck). I checked the inline fuse for the alarm and it is good. The only thing i can think of is a bad relay that is connected to the alarm. Any one have an other idea??? The book says to disconnect the battery before messing with the electri stuff, so i will before i mess with the relays.
