sorry ive posted so many things tonight guys but anyways i went out to my truck this morning and my one mirror was flipped around the way its not suppose to go and now it wont umm lock into the position that it should it kinda just flops around so when i start driving it closes a little is this mirror done now or can i maybe take it apart and fix the inside if its just some gears or springs or something.
wish i could find that idiot who did it i dunno if they were dumb and ran into it or if they were just being little ****** and purposly did it but i was not impressed

and that will actually get rid of them and not just hide them for a few days that would be awesome i love this forum it seems theres always an answer to almost every question
But remember, think of the rubbing compound as a sand paper, so DO NOT OVER-DO IT!!!

Don't need to make none. It's common knowledge 'round here. Pretty much has been ever since you posted your pick up in the sticky...

As far as the scratches, like others have said rubbing compound works well if you use it sparingly (not too much) otherwise, you can take it to a body shop and have them wet sand out the scratches, but make sure you wax after you're done.
Sorry, bringing this one back from the dead. Theres a lot of comments about the scratch fixes, but what about the broken mirror?
My tow mirror (on my 3rd gen) is doing the exact same thing... will not lock into position. It swings back and forth fairly easily and locks into a forward position, but will not lock in at driving position. Any easy fixes, or is it junkola? I spent a fair amount of time monkeying around with the dang thing but did not get anywhere.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
