electronic door locking motor
Whats up guys, due to the recent cold weather, I noticed that after the first really cold night a couple days ago when I went to start up the truck i noticed that when I unlock the doors the passenger side lock makes a buzzing sound for about 1 second as the lock goes up whe I unlocked it. I talked to my buddy at work who owns a durango and he said he had the same problem and needed to replace the locking motor by taking off the door panels, is this the only way to fix it, do any of you think it will stop once it gets a bit warmer out or should I just go and replace it, and if so, how much should it cost to buy a new locking motor?
I haven't actually peeked inthe door panel enough to notice how everything is buttoned up, however if the linkage is catching on something that could cause the motor to over work itself. If you can move the lock up down the same on both sides with your fingers then you need to replace the motor as stated.
The electric door lock made a ratcheting/grinding sound a few times and stopped working. I cannot unlock the door at all (neither the door handle nor the lock button will move). Any suggestions?
you and me probably both gotta go to a Dodge dealership and see if they have another door locking motor that we can replace our current ones with, I'm sure mine will stop working soon too
