Anyone here put a catch-can on their hemi ram? Which one did you get and how do you like where you mounted it?

Do you mean an air/oil seperator that hooks to the PCV valve? Our trucks shouldn't need one. I installed one on my mustang but only because it was supercharged. I never had to empty it not once in over 1,000miles.

 

I think he means an overflow for the radiator. I have an aftermarket one on my Nova. Our trucks already have one stock....its where you add antifreeze i believe.

 

All newer cars are pressurized for coolant. A catch can would change that. Yes the fill tank is the overflow as well as the fill.
That just didn't seem right to me since it's not a possibility to put an open coolant catch on newer cars. Maybe he's not calling it by the right terminology????

On older vehicles the was a Radiator cap with a certian Pressure rating. When the pressure inside the rad rose above the caps rating....the valve would open sending the fluid into the "catch can". I know you know this....

Newer cars there is no cap anymore, another way to hold and release pressure i guess....Not exactly sure how. There would be no way to put a catch can on, because they pull and push fluid in and out of the overflow/fill tank when you drive. Catch cans are not big enough to hold enough fluid for this.

Now if he wanted to install one, he could install it after the Fill talk, on the fill tanks overflow...But it would never see any spill inless he added too much fluid.
