Default Sterio Problem

Well after hours of cutting apart my dash and making custom mounting brackets for my Double Din DVD player something in the wiring is out of wack. I'm 99% sure that the wiring is right, but I think I have to change something. When I plug in the DVD player a light comes up on the dash saying NO BUS and the truck won't start. However the DVD player works...Then if I unplug the DVD player the light just goes off and the truck will start again. On the plus side the DVD player looks sweet all said and done. haha...

that sounds familiar.. could it be it wont play when the truck is on/driving? a friend of mine had one like that and a shop fixed it quick with something.

yeah normally it doesent shut the truck off it just wont work, they have a ground wire attached to ur e-brake or something but you can just hook it up to a switch and there ya go,but ive heard the no bus thing and the truck not starting b4 but i dont remember how they resolved it

im not exactly sure...even if the truck comes stock with navigation/dvd player it wouldent be tied into the ignition i wouldent think, it just wouldent play or have a blue screen saying it must be in park with E-brake applied..........very odd..sorry, hopefully some1 with more knowledge will chime in..

Well after school today I went out and started cutting wires till the light went off haha. Turns out it was the Mute wire...? Kinda weird, but everything works now so I'm happy...
