Default Is 4wheelsparts.com correct?

I just called them and they said that the biggest I can go without cutting and rubbing on my 04 4x4 Ram is a 295/70/17 in the nitto terra grapplers. is this correct?

yup. they're pretty much right. that's a 33" tire. put a leveling kit on the front end and you'll be able to go to a 35" tire.

You can to about a 33"x12.5" tire, but with the stock wheels, which do not offer a decent backspacing, you may rub a bit at extreme full turn.
The Nito's above are roughly 33.3" x 11.6", so unless they offer a tire of that height that's just a hair wider, I'd say it's an accurate assessment...

yeah biggest you can fit without a leveling kit is a 33x12.5 on a 02-05 ram. grab a leveling kit or crank those t-bars( for free ) and you can go up to 35x12.5....

The 12.5 is what you cant fit with out spacers.

??? what tank? 12.5 is what you CANT fit without spacers? on the 06+ you need spacers to fit 12.5s because of the coil over suspension but on a 02-05 you can fit 12.5 a little better ( spacers would provide more room though)

With the torsion bar '02-'05 you can get away with the 12.5" width on the stockers without spacers. Maybe a hair of a scrub but only at extreme full turn. You'd be dead on though for your truck. The '06+ coil overs seem to have a bit less clearance where the a-arms are concerned and I'd not do the 12.5s without spacers or a sufficiently backspaced aftermarket wheel...

sorry all, the guy at 4wheelparts.com said "with a leveling kit" i still would only be able to go with 295's, with or without the stock wheels and with or without spacers. so, he is innacurate then?

with leveling kit you can go to a 35x12.5. so yes he is innaccurate. with a spacer they will fit even better but they will fit and if they rub they will only do so at absolute full turn without spacers.
