I got lucky and learned how to gas, mig, tig, and stick weld in high school. but anyways, about tow hooks, got me thinking. A friend of mine got some bada$$ chrome ones for his Ford, anyone seen any for dodges? they made a huge difference, and would match my truck perfectly. I like the m hooks, but it would be a PIA if you ever wanted to wrap the strap around the hooks real quick instead of putting it away I would imagine...

Tig is a piece of cake. If you can stick and mig you can tig with a little practice. I tig most everything because you have more control of filler, look and the amount of heat.
I don't think the 2500's tow hooks just bolt up. The 1500's frame is just not as strong as the 2500's and need the tow bar for rigidity and distribute the pulling force across the two frame members. If they just bolt up I would not pull too hard and have them for looks mostly. If you are replacing the bumper buy the tow bar at the same time because the bumper comes off to install it. This is the tow bar I installed on my truck when I needed to replace the front bumper (2 month old truck and 85 year old lady incident)

Flwalks,

Did you cut the stock plastic trim that fills in the area of the bumper where the two hooks go? I saw a 2500 on a dealer lot one time that looks like your plastic trim, but I never saw a 1500 that had the plastic trim and the tow hooks at the sam time.

The 2nd link Semigod posted says they are for 2500 and 3500 only.

Maybe I will get some?

im not gonna be much help here, but i have tow hooks on my 1500. when i got her, i was told that the 2500 i test drove was identical to the 1500 the wife was getting me. well. she was lacking a hitch, sprayin bed liner, tow hooks, and LSD. so i took her back to the stealer and was told that whatever i wanted, they would take care of. i assumed that i would have to pay for the work but they would give me a deal. i got everything but the 3.92s (dammit). they ended up not charging me anymore than the $25k that had been agreed upon beforehand.
anyways, the tow hooks that were offered to me were the round type and i have the keeper loop straps and that wasnt going to work for me. so i asked them to find me an L type hook. this is what they came up with. i have no idea right now how they are attached because it is dark out. tomorrow ill take a look. here are some pics. ill take some better ones tomorrow.
