Thank you.
I just hope it helps a little more and looks cleaner.

Heres what I did today---I picked up some black ceramic high temp spray paint and sprayed the bottom half then scuffed up the plexi box sides and sprayed it with the textured stuff then hit it with the black stuff.

Once the box is completed I will be airbrushing something on it to give it that custom look.

I wanna see that bad boy finished! it looks like its gonna be sweet! what brand is your cold air intake? Did you notice a diference with the way you had it before? I just have a drop in K&N. I had a CAI on My durango, but didnt like how it sucked hot air! Looks like you are taking care of that pretty well!

Same here man, I've been wanting to do this for about two years when I had the idea but just never got around to it.
The intake is by CGS motorsports and I didn't notice much in the begining because it was pretty quick stock lol.
As I've added more mods to the engine I've noticed better response I'm just hoping this will help some and will make the engine bay look good.

I'll be working on it more this weekend after work if the weather cooperates.

I did the exact same thing with my Mustang. Well, I just retained the factory box, but I ran 4" pvc from the air box through the front fog hole(had to remove the fog light) When I did some datalogging and sat on the dyno, my Intake Air temp never read over the ambient air temp. The dyno guy said most cars pick up anywhere from 30-80degrees of added heat by the time it gets to the intake.

Thanks, I also have a black powdercoated diff cover I've been wanting to paint for over two or three years hopefully I'll get it airbrushed soon.
I just gave it a second coat so hopefully tomorow if the weather is nice like today I'll throw it in. Cross your fingers.

dirtydog,
So how much did it help and do you have any pic's. I'm interested to see the setup. I have fog lights and I use them since my regular lights are facing up too much.
Still trying to figure out where to rout the aluminum duct.

I know I need to do something with the front of the aluminum duct so I get more air coming in and plus it doesn't look all that great lol.

I will be driving my truck tomorrow and will find out if the box helped any.

that looks good man. maybe you can get the jet stream scoop then put the duct at the end of it so it would go to your box...
