I got mine because the were having a sale for new 2008 with 50% off base msrp. I was at the dealership getting my wife's nitro serviced and was walking around killing time. After realizing there were a lot of V6 quads around, and seeing the EPA sticker everything seemed enticing. I was driving an 2006 chevy uplander (minivan) which was giving me all sorts of problems so that was the final push. That and I had driven 2 dodge trucks before and they were pretty reliable. Wish I could say the same for all the GM's I owned but all of them gave me problems so I have wiped my hands clean of them. Some time I wish I had gone with the 4.7 but I knew with the V6 it wasn't going to be a speed demon (and it's a truck). I test drove it and I thought it was alright and seemed better then the Dodge 04 Reg Cab V6 I had as far as performance. And the gas milage seems to float around 17-19 MPG so I can't complain... and I got out of the minivan!

Go for the V8, It'll be better on gas if you can keep your foot off it, with the V6 it has less power so your always on the gas......

Ha that's awesome.

Hey Derrick, I've always heard those v8 Dakotas were quick? But then I'd look up the numbers and they were awesome. What did yours run/

they were quick. especially when the 5.2 was swapped out for a newer 5.9. i never actually ran the truck...had it for two years...was in school and painting houses. last year was my first time at a track.

I got my V6 because the price was right. Also, I rarely pull a trailer and never race. I use it mostly for work and hauling my toys around in the back. (tools and hunting & fishing gear)

Used to work for a dealer so I drove all of them and when it was time to buy I got what I needed. I don't tow anything heavy so I don't need the Hemi and the difference between the 4.7 and 3.7 is very small, hardly noticable.

I bought mine like most others, good price, low mileage, daily driver, thought it would get better gas mileage than it gets. Not a bad truck. Needs more power, but for the price and condition of the truck I can't complain.

I love mine!....its got enough power for me and my needs.i think they are gonna put the phox v6s in the ram next year with over 280 hp saving my money for one of thoes.and if you think the ram v6 is a slug go test drive a v6 reg cab tundra.one of my co workes bought one.geezzz talk about a sorry truck wayyyyy over strained and very sluggish.but i belive the tundra weighs alot more but am not sure.
