Default tuner questions, yes i know ...

i know this has been asked many times before, but i would like some real info. the diablo tuner boasts 25 hp, the bully dog power pup boasts 30hp and the edge 57 hp. lastly the superchips at 21 hp. i see all of the other options, but what i am really after is the power increase. does anyone have any of these, and have you tested them, i have the money to spend, but i want the most power for the money, any ideas??

I've seen a couple dyno runs, but not with just the tuner, so it's hard to say. I know that some give RWHP numbers, like the Superchips. Some give numbers at the engine which are always quite a bit higher, so you may have to make inquiries or read some fine print.
I know that this market is changing FAST! Diablo finally getting a tuner to market after numerous failed attempts and a better than 18 month delay has shaken things up a bit among the "canned tuned" tuners. Superchips alone has been adding features almost weekly and has a laundry list of options planned over the next month or so.
Used to be the only game in town was the Flashpaq or a custom tune like the SCT (pricey and of no use to any but the heavily modded guys).
This addition of more tuners from quality manufacturers will help everyone, no matter which tuner you end up buying...

I got and installed my Predator today. 93 octane, she runs like a striped *** ape!!! Very noticeable difference. The 91 octane tune made a huge improvement as well. Well worth the money. I will see how the MPGs do on my round trip to work tomorrow. I was at 16.3 avg for the 80 mile round trip.

I also just put the predator in my truck last night. used the 91 tune as there is no 93 available in my area. it is a very noticeable difference. helped get a little of my lost power from bigger tires back. also used it to reprogram for the change in tire size. no more "dead pedal", better shifts and shift points, and throttle response is better as well.

Expect terrible mileage from the 93 tune. Bets MPG's will be from the 91 tune.
I gained 2mpgs and that's with my mds disabled off the 91 tune.
The 91 tune gets better mileage than even the 89 tune. Dunno why anyone would wanna use that tune?

i think i have decided to go with superchips. it shows the most torque gains, and only slight lower hp than the bully dog pup. thanks for the info guys.

I have the Edge Evolution and they only make it for the 07' HEMI but they show 35 H.P. and 70 TQ. at the rear wheels at Extreem setting.

Yeah, your not gonna get 50+hp from a gas tuner unless you have a factory equipt supercharger and we all know that's not the case. Most vehicel I have seen range from 10-25hp increase. You can only modify so much of the factory equiptment.
The manufacturers can claim all they want. Doesn't mean it happens.

On a stock Ram you will gain anywhere from 22-40rwhp on the dyno. Yes, it varys that much. From what I have noticed at my shop, we see the greatest gains when you have a custom tune made, with a good CAI, and true duals. Canned tunes as they are called that are pre programmed on many handheld tuners are not the best. Having a tune made for your mods, and your drivetrain/engine is the way to go.
