Default Am I losing my mind?

I was doing a search and came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-07...spagenameZWD1V

Is that seriously $279 for a piece of plastic tubing and a rubber coupler? And it doesn't come with the airbox or anything? WTF?

Marketing has gone way overboard and some people have just got too lazy to be creative on their own measures!

You are kinda old so yea, you prolly are losing your mind! :O The sad thing is, there are people willing to spend the outragous amount of $ on that. If people are willing to pay it, businesses are willing to charge it.

That's F'ed up man!...lol

I just think about the custom Ram air I made on my mustang and it cost me 2hours of my time and $30 in parts. 4" pvc and 4" sewer pipe that I heated up and molded for shaping.

to answer your questions, no you're not LOSING your mind. It was apparent that it was already lost the first day you joined DF.

and yes, that is $279 for a piece of plastic tubing and a rubber coupler...

The only thing i can say to that is: not everybody is that creative or handy. I for 1 am not. Granted, being on this site could provoke people to become a bit more handy...look at the home made CAI that guy whipped up. Not too shabby!

Under applications in the description it says it is to be used in conjunction with the Volant intake system!

And up top it says Adapter.

Yes, but under the Applications it sayd "ask us how to upgrade to the Power Core filter".

Then where you had stated, it gives the definition of the power core filter.

I hate when they don't specify exactly what is being sold. If you look at the picture it clearly shows all but the plastic tube shadowed out. I have already emailed the seller so I will let you know what he says.

That would be the full system, filter included for that price.
