I would chalk it up to better throttle response and better gearing. I have driven a few of the 09's before and even though they do have an extra 50hp and 30ftlbs of torque at the crank they still have not figured out a good way of transferring that power to the pavement as well as not figuring out how to get the throttle response a little better on the newer trucks (which really sucks specially when you floor them). With better gearing and a better throttle there is no doubt that he would have been pulling away from me. I want to find an r/t though, I have a feeling it would be a much closer finish.

I dunno man. Intake, exhaust, tuner and gears dont add up to 50 hp. Those things are suppose to be like low to mid 1/4 mile times stock arent they? Maybe he just needs to break it in a lil more.

Maybe its because the new trucks look gay so it makes them slower.

The 4.56 gears vs a 3.21 makes a huge difference. An R/T with 4.10's would have been a different outcome.

3.21 is the standard Hemi gear ratio now with 3.92 an option.

I have to agree with the gears. 4.56's on 33" tires will make for killer take offs. Good kill. Just kill a ford cumstroker or a chevy clunker next time.

They're actually 31" tires not 33"s.... But yeah like I said a different set of gears in that thing and it would have been alot closer although I thought that the standard gear for the sport package was the 3.92s?...I'll try to find a ford or chevy next time but they aren't very fun though besides its nice to see where you stand sometimes...

Good race none the less. I haven't driven an 09 yet.

I tried to build such a truck and it doesn't exist.
The only sport model is the Sport R/T with 4.10 gears.
There is no other SPORT option when trying to built a ST or SLT std cab.

Ok, I found it. It is a 4x4, not 2wd. 3.55 is std in the sport 4x4.

Damn, 31" tires with 4.56 gears! What the hell is your top speed? You must have torque from hell!
