Alright I finally found a body shop that will do the paint/prep/fitting for some new parts for my truck. Im getting a new hood, grill and bumper cover. What I want to do with the paint is have all the parts match the silver on my truck except for the top of the hood, from basically where the windshield line to the front of the grill I want to have it painted black. but just that part of the hood. Kinda like how the old muscle cars look with just the hood painted black and no stripes. Do you think this will look good? I dont have time tonight to post a semi edited pic of what it will turn out like but I will tomorrow. for now though what do you guys think? I've seen alot of pics with this particular hood painted to match the truck and it just doesn't look right to me, its the Extractor Style Hood. If you google it a pic of what Im looking at should pop up. Any and all opinions are welcome good or bad, just let me know what you guys think.

i think that would look sick. i want to do that too...paint my door handles and mirrors to match the silver. are you going to do that too?

That would be the one, I want the hood black like that as it runs into the grill but have everything else the stock silver.

 

And no I dont want to paint the door handles and mirrors to match the truck, I actually want to keep them black like they are now

 

I would do it. I ALMOST did it myself but changed my mind at the last minute. If it turned out ugly id be pissed. The more time has passed the more i regret not doing it. I would add the grille shell tho. Just the hood, the way it breaks then bolts up to the grille shell may look funky. Also, if its the 70s muscle car style you are looking for, paint the stuff semi gloss black.
Not the same hood i realize but its just for the idea.

 

I think it looks kinda bad. worked with the old muscle cars cuz all the lines going forward stopped at the grill. our trucks have lines that keep goind down, so you gotta paint them (grill shell). to me that hood and shell painted black looks like a$$

I think the truck in the picture is ugly. If you painted just the hood and not the grill surrounding it would look sweet. Paint it matte black. Where you getting yor bumper cover?
