Another New guy with a new Toy
i like the rims, 20s?
performance is the very first thing every V6 owner does here. cold air intake is one of the easiest and cheapest way for a good performance boost. i bought mine from ebay and i have no complaints. I think there were other people who bought the same one but i havent seen them on this forum. here is the one i have-

the one above is the full cold air intake with a K&N air filter meaning it connects straight to the throtle body and goes to the bumper. that is the top line one for $80 but if you look at other intakes from the same seller they can get as cheap as $25 if you go with a different brand filter and a shorter one that connects up to only the box with 3.7 on it

Yep, those are 20's and I know I need a little more rubber around the rim....they are only 275/45....I want a 275/60 on them but I will wait until these wear out....Other things i could drop a grand on right now. Question about the Intake though. What are your concerns about hydro lock on that setup?
i was also worried about hydrolock when i bought it but the other people who had said they drove through puddles and pouring rain and had no problems. as long as you dont try to drive through any rivers, youre fine
. so far i havent had any problems and its been over 9 months now. the power increase is very good for the money and it was easy to install. If you want the best value in terms of power/dollar, id get the $25 one because i heard the full CAI for $80 does not have that much of a difference and the non K&N air filter is still pretty good but what do i know. DerrickSmash had something similar to the $25 and now he bought something like mine.
about those wheels, i wasnt sure that they were 20s because the sidewall was so little and looked the same as tires for 22's. I wonder who would put such small tires on a truck. Mine tires right now are 305/40 for my 22's and they have almost the same amout of sidewall. I think my next tires will be 305/45 because they add an inch overall to the size. do you think about some 305/50 would fit because the extra width sticking out on the side looks really good. l do like 275/60 because they equal to a 33" tire, nice

too bad it only fits the hemi
but chambers is right about the hood. the way these air intakes work is that the more COLD air that comes in, the better the engine performs. Thats why i recommend having the air intake with the filter as far away from the engine as possible because the engine makes a lot of hot air around it

Yeah I understand the heat issue there, but it is also for the V6

two air filters are definitely not bad. If only you could mount them farther from the engine or get the hood. That would give you a bigger power boost. If you want them, go ahead but Im telling you if you want power, the full cold air intake like the one i have is the best. Talk to DerrickSmash, he know the most about our V6s'. If you do get it, you would be very unique since not many people have them.
Thanks for the welcomes. Yes the Modding will be coming....Also if anyone needs help with audio let me know, I did Pro Audio competitions for 6 years, I'm not the best by know means but I can hold my own....
I know our trucks are not a power house, but what the best aftermerket bolts-on. Like Throttle body, exhaust, super charger/turbo charger, etc. What are the known aftermarket sites for our vehicles....
As for Mods the first thing I am going to get is a Truxedo Bed Cover. Then it is kinda in the air for what comes next...... Thanks aagain for the welcomes amd the compliments. I should be a regular her as well....

since i dont have a lot of cash. I just want to be able to feel the vibrations from the subs. my audio is stock right now and if your is too, then you know what its capable of.
yea, the intake honestly will not do much. i have my intake on there for one main reasons i have the cai is 1) looks and 2) cleaner, roomier engine bay...
air in general is a very poor conductor of heat. a cold air intake isn't actually "cold" air - the ideal scenario of a cai setup is that the air coming in is the outside temperature. the outside air going into your STOCK intake system is coming from the same place as my cold air intake draws air from (right beside the windshield washer fluid - and keep in mind that this double intake is right above the engine and above the exhaust manifolds). in my stock intake system, i guarantee you the air that crossed my air temp sensor (located @ throttle body) gave the same temp reading as my current full cold air intake.
and, some can argue that the wider, more direct path to the throttle body gives you gains some power...which is true, but completely worth nothing noticeable performance wise in my opinion.
cliffnotes: on a 100degree day, your STOCK intake system is pulling in 100degree air (maybe 102degrees or something stupid). on the same day, with an aftermarket system the air going into your engine is gonna be maybe 101degrees.
more cliffnotes: buy an intake, clear out the engine bay, it looks nice and opens up engine bay (hell, maybe that keep engine temp down?)
