Who does their own work?
Mine has never gone to our Chrysler dealership, and probably never will. The place I bought it from, had it in there once, and all morning it was there, they didn't touch it. They are as pathetic as a crappy dealership comes as far as working on a vehicle.
I'll do some things if I can, but I don't have an extensive knowledge of the truck, but I can get ahold of most of the tools I need some way or another. Oil is nice, because it's pretty cheap to change. At my uncle's when we slow down in a day, I'll pull my truck in, pop out the drain plug, oil filter, drain it, put the new oil in, take the drain pan out, then dump it out in the driveway. Being rock, and out in the country, it's just fine doing that.

i remember the day i got layed off i had 10 5 gallon buckets of used motor oil in the bed of my truck (was bringin them to a disposal site). well they never made it the disposal site. instead all 10 buckets were dumped in the parking lot. yeah it was funny as hell. 50 gallons all over the place. they do not have cameras so i know i was in the clear.
i do most of my own work...depends on the depth of experience needed.
i installed my shift kit in the transmission, i've done brakes, balljoints, cv-shafts, typical bolt-on stuff (alternator, shocks, struts), but never torn down an engine. i almost did some clutch work for my buddy on a beater car he just wanted running, but he got rid of the car before i got a chance to play with it.
i'd like to get into some engine work, but i'm not sure of the best practices when re-assembling, as well as tools needed (if any). I have a fairly extensive tool collection, at least by my own standards. just don't have a really good place to work. my garage is barely big enough to fit my truck in. maybe when i get my shop built (if ever) i would like to get a car/truck to restore. that would be fun to me.
