Default just picked up a diablo predator...

The MDS delete is great and it shifts quicker but I'm not noticing a marked improvment in power, is there a pcm learning curve? I'm running the 93 octane tune but I was hoping for more midrange power and firmer shifting from it. Has anyone had better luck with the custom tunes from them? All I have done to the engine is a magnaflow cat-back and a K&N airfilter.

Unless it's a recent add, the Diablo does not increase the line pressure of the transmission like the Superchips does. Last I read, it is a "forthcoming" feature. But don't fret too much, I think you are gonna see a war between the two very soon. Both will have to come out with more features on a regular basis. SC sat back as the only game in town and got lazy. You'll come out way ahead from now on, no matter which one you have...

There is a learning curve with a tuner.

if you want to see a noticeable gain in power dont buy a canned tune! everyone seems to do this too much. get a true dyno tune, so much better.

I haven't heard of many hemi trucks getting a dyno tune...our trucks are very hard to tune and DCX won't release the codes they need.

Cause they are like $500. Its well worth it it you have the mods to make it worth while.

It has to be more than the cost...a handheld is $400 and the tunes are nowhere as good. The tuners have to have the software in order to tune (like hptuners) and I dunno if it exists yet.

I would agree if he had so many engine ad ons, but his truck is basically stock. If you have a canned tune from one 2008 dodge ram, it's gonna be just as good as the other 2008 dodge ram. The cost benefit out of a dyno tune for a stock vehicle is too much and not worth it.

Yeah, I agree with the 'dog here. Hell, I've got a laundry list of mods and I am still running a Flashpaq. I'll need the SCT and custom tunes when I drop in the cam, to tame it, especially with the custom grind, but until then, even with CAI, a completely re-done exhaust from LT Headers on back as well as a few other bolt on performance mods, I'd not see enough gains to justify the cost...

My mustang is perfect example. I had a JLT CAI, all new plug wires, lower temp plugs, Accel coil packs, LT headers, full catback, no cats, and many more. My canned tune that was designed for LT headers and cai and no cats was within 10rwhp of a custom tune that cost me $200. Meaning I only gained 9rwhp off of a custom tune. Mainly due to the car running rich fro the LT's. Now when I added the Vortech, the tune specifically for that system was way diff. I gained almost 60rwhp from a custom tune.
