Fly-by-wire throttle vs poor acceleration
I'm generally pretty gentle on the accelerator, but with that in mind the truck seems a bit sluggish. My '08 2500 4x4 QC also seems noticeably less punchy than the '07 1500 4x4 QC (that was an expensive miscalculation/mistake). Granted, the 2500 is a few hundred pounds heavier and has larger/wider tires.
However.... I've been surprised a few times getting a little more aggressive with the throttle. Not WOT, and maybe not even 50%, but if I'm "less gentle" on the gas, there's a dramatic jump in seat-of-the-pants power. Even more interesting is that I think I get better gas mileage when I don't baby it (city driving).
Is the throttle so disconnected (mechanically) from the rest of the fuel system that the computer makes that big of an impact?
Or... is this all a figment of my imagination?

the throttle does adjust to your habits and will increase or decrease the sensitivity depending on how you drive. This takes a good long drive though for it to change. I hate the by-wire pedal. The delay bothers me so much.

Sounds like you're giving it enough throttle to kick out of overdrive...that and you're giving it more throttle would explain the increased SOTP feel
.
Hrm. I seem to remember there only being a 400-500lb difference when I had both on the scales (empty from dropping stuff off at a landfill). 1,000 would more explain the sluggishness. However, my memory sucks.
