Default 4x4 Concern

Hello all...I have a 2007 1500 4x4 with the 4.7L engine. Went to dig out this morning from the massive snow/ice that we received here in Cincinnati and I am concerned about the operation of my transfer case and 4X4 system.

1. I shift into 4 LOCK...works perfectly fine. I hear the front and rear axles join together and the 4WD light on the dash quits flashing.

2. I then shift into 4 LOW...and in addition to the 4WD light being illuminated, 4 LOW will not quit flashing. Is it supposed to keep flashing or is there a problem that I will need to have repaired under warranty?

BTW, I still have the factory warranty and my shifter is on the dash near the steering wheel.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

I put my truck in neutral when i engage 4 low. It takes a few seconds to hook up, give that a shot.

Nuetral is the best bet. Sometimes getting out of 4lo can be a PIA as well. If this happens, simply shift the truck into reverse and then back into drive and it should fix the problem. Also, sometimes when disengaging, the truck may need to be driven 15ft slowly before it will disengage.

4hi, 2hi can be shifted into anytime below 55mph.
