Magnaflow Y Pipe
kinda sorta, but instead, i'm keep all the stock cats and everything, the only non stock is i'm replacing the crappy stock y pipe with a high flow
then, after the cats and everything, i'm using another Y pipe in the opposite direct to split the exhaust into duals, one muffler each side, and then out the back
so stock through the cats except Y pipe section
then post cats, Y Pipe splitting the exhaust into two mufflers and exit

i know if you look at stores for X pipes, they seem expensive, but you can go to a good exhaust shop, and have them fabricate you a custom one for a fraction of the price. when i got my Y pipe custom made, it only cost me like $40. whereas a magnaflow Y would have cost me $20-30 for the Y and another $30-40 to get it welded in. same applies to an X or H.
do yourself a favor, and do it right the first time. it will save you money in the long run. if you do it ****ty and half assed now, you are not going to like it, then have to pay all over again to get it redone.
I'm new to this website and also to adding mods to my truck (I've had it a year already and am just now getting around to adding to it). I just ordered Magnaflows 2.5" dual 3" single y pipe and a set of JBA shorty headers (not too bad a starting point I don't think). I have a 08 Ram 4.7 and haven't seen many mods like this done to any. Any suggestions are welcome. I can post pics after the install is finished if anyone is interested.
hey does anyone one if the size that magnaflow claims runs true to size. i bought their y pipe, 2.5inch to a 3inch. this thing shows up today and its massive. diameter of both ends is over 3inches.??
help a brother out in the 2gen dakotas!
thanks guys.
well i remeasured and its 2.75 and 3.25. i guess i shouldnt use a ruler when im tired as hell. i don see a .25 inch being a problem now.
