hey guys. i can get a Superchip and PW for 250 shipped? is this a good deal. both are used but in good condition and the tuner is unlocked. ive been debating on whether to get a sc or diablosport for sometime now. i know the diablo you can do alot of custom tuning with it and is good when you have a lot of engine mods. which i plan not to do. does the sc works well with the pw? thanks guys any help is appreciated. nick

i plan on using the 87 tune....i dont have money for expensive gas
when you add the powerwire you're going to want to run a higher octane than what the superchips is set to. if you don't it likely negates all the affects of the PW and might actually do more harm than good as far as power goes.

ok so i should just get the tuner then. and thats ok to run 87 octane? sorry for the dumb questions

yup, perfectly ok to run 87 octane with the 87 tune. if you are buying the tuner ONLY to be able to run 87, don't waste your money. just ween the truck off of 89 and onto 87, she'll run fine (mine does).
fill up next time at half tank with 87, then run 87 from then on. you'll retard timing at full throttle and high load (towing) situations and lose a little power in those conditions, but other than that she'll run fine.
of course if you're buying it for shift timing and that sorta stuff, then go for it!

when i first got the truck i only put 89 in it. when gas got ridiculous i started putting 87 in it and it still runs good. i was buying the tuner for the increase in power and fuel economy.

From my personal experience with the 3815, if you are going for power and fuel economy I would run the 91 tune. I find that I get the same economy with both the 87 and 91 tune but much better power with the 91 tune.
Also, to answer your initial question, the Powerwire and 3815 work really well together. I run on the 91 tune with 93 gas and the truck performs good.
ok is the power noticeably different? does the sc have more power on the 87 tune than the diablo? im still debating which one i want
I can notice the difference between the 87 tune and 91 tune on the 3815. It is pretty obvious to me when I have it on 87 vs. 91 tune.
As far as the diablo goes I have never used it so I have no first hand knowledge. All that I know about it is that people say the 93 tune is good while others have put their trucks on the dyno and found the diablo canned tunes to be equal to other tuner's canned tunes. I am sure that someone with the diablo will chime in.
