291/month for full coverage on my dodge. yep, just one truck. im 29, have a CDL, and have no moving violations. some jacka$$ hit me in a parking lot, long story. the fault went on my insurance record so now its outrageous. it was 160/mo before that, which is kinda tolerable for vegas considering all the car thefts. im gonna try AAA after reading this though and see what they say.

Now that I think of it, my "high performance" 01 ford lightning was only $200/mo. and then my 98 dodge diesel was $225/mo.(reason for being so expensive supposedly was because "large trucks can cause lots of bodily injury") all after the dakota incident. Progressive sucks!

Rates are going up because they are basing rates more and more based on Credit report scores. My truck rate went up after I bought my house and changed vehicles. Ofcourse because my credit score went down a few points after the new mortgage went on there.
For $20/mo I'll stick with State Farm. Geico has given me rates $20 cheaper, but I was afraid to switch over. State Farm had been good to me for 10years now. I put my cheapo car through Geico because they were 1/4 of what State Farm wanted to charge me. Then they raised the rates after the first renewal and haven't dropped since. They raised my car fro $123 for every 6/mo to 243 every 6/mo which is still cheaper than State Farm quoted me. That's crazy for no collision on a 95 stratus. My '00 Silverado was only $356/6mo full coverage.

Those 10/20/25 coverages are terrible. Think about this. If your driving and someone hits you that doesn't have insurance, your screwed. You haven't got enough insurance to cover them and they can sue you. It's B.S but can happen. Just think about how expensive some cars are these days. if you don't have enough in insurance to cover the damages, you pay out of pocket.

I have 100k/300k/100k for coverage at those rates. 5yrs clean record.

Redone4X4- I'm looking into allstate because of their accident forgiveness plans. I've had same problems in the past where people hit me and their insurance paid out but still considered me as a risk. Accident forgiveness should take care of this b.s.

Accident forgiveness had nothing to do with that!

The forgivenes program is much like SF's. If you back up into someone per say, their damage was under $1,000. You had no damage. SF will pay out the entire amount, no deductible on your part and no hike in rates. That can happenlike once every 3years. If you have multiple accidents regardless of fault, i promise, they will wnt to jack up your rates regardless of any forgivenss program. It's a ploy.

I pay $234/month, but that's for 100/300/100 full coverage on 5 vehicles (the '98 Durango, '07 Ram, '05 T&C, and 2 motorcycles).

My '66 is on it's own policy for $10 month through Hagerty's.

I just sold the Durango over the weekend, so it should drop a few bucks. Also, my wife has one accident on her record, which should be coming off in the next 6 months, and that will also help some.

Certain areas are much worse. When I lived in Phoenix, my insurance costs were doubled. One of the issues there is that they rarely recover vehicles if stolen. They go down to Mexico and are gone forever.

Progressive has always been good to me....and their online is second to none. They're not as personal as say state farm (you don't have an agent) but their online is so good you don't need one.
