Default Remote release fuel door?

Anybody seen one? I've got a locking cap, but it's mildly annoying to have to hand over the keys to get fueled (Oregon doesn't let you pump your own gas).

I'd like to find a cable (or electric) release latch so I can open the fuel door from within the cab.

Why do you need a locking cap in the first place and what's wrong with the stock door?

put the key to the lock on its own key fob then keep in in the console and only have to hand him 1 key. that and the fact here in IL you can not find some one to pump gas for you I would love not having to get out in the cold to pump.

You have full service gas stations in Oregon? I thought that was a thing of the past like Shell giving away glasses and knives at fill ups. I have a St. Louis Foootball Cardinals glass that my folks got from Shell.

Although it's never happened to me (that I know of), 34 gallons of gas would seem to be an awfully tempting target when gas prices go back up again. A remote release would be more convenient than a key, and be an interesting, functional mod.

The key/cap wouldn't stop somebody from poking a hole in the plastic tank, but it would be something.

That's the easy solution, and one I've already considered. It wouldn't be as much fun, though. The safety-feature of giving out the whole key ring (or problem with just giving the gas key) is that I *can't* drive away without getting the full set of keys back. A solo key could be forgotten by both the attendant and me.

we still have full service stations in NJ, but no one cares if you do it yourself.
