Truck tool box condensation problem
I posted this in the diesel section but not much traffic over there. Anyways I have a truck tool box that is sealed up tight but the condensation collects like crazy on the lid. So much that it runs down the walls and causes mold. Does anybody have any suggestions to fix this problem? I'm thinking about installing a couple vents on the back side, not sure if this would help though.
A friend of mine has a box on his truck thats at least 10 years old and never has any condensation in it. Are you sure its got a good seal? I dont know what brand his is but it's diamond plate. Is yours diamond plate or plastic? Might have something to do with it.

It's an aluminum toolbox and I know it is sealed up good because I made it! lol This is what I do for a living. I've never owned one to experience this condensation issue until now. I have installed vents in toolboxes before but have no idea what for. I saw that some companies line their toolboxes with some type of fabric because of this but I'd rather do something like vents if they would work, I would just hate it if vents would make it worse?
I used to have the same problem with mine.I just put a couple of holes in the bottom and it pretty much fixd the problem(unless its a real humid day)

I'm thinking I might do the vents. It makes sense, you need a way for moisture to escape if you put something damp in there. I just don't remember ever putting anything damp in my toolbox. Weird........
i would think a few minor holes in the bottom would help.
I have a couple of them, in the gun cabinet and a few other spots to keep the humidity and mold away...
