Default Sometimes you just gotta say what the hell

Finally bit the big one today boys, and for the old guard here, no I ain't working yet. But hell, with my luck I'll be dead and buried before retirement age anyway.

Ordered the Cam today, KRC 210, -4 custom grind. Should have it in about 4 weeks. Gonna try the install myself, never done one, but I know how, so we'll see. I have a fall-back guy if I start to have a problem. Gonna do the 6.1 springs, retainers & rods to save a few more bucks. KRC Performance will be doing the custom tunes for it using an SCT tuner.

So, with the roughly $800 bucks I'm saving there, I ordered the 3" PA Body Lift today as well. Found it for a smidge over $300. When I get back home to Ga. in 4-6 weeks, I have access to a lift, so that shouldn't be too bad, done that mod before. Just never with a suspension lift already on the truck.

So my only real issue is coming up with tire $ and figuring out what 37" tire would work best. Gonna prolly go more aggressive than the FCII's, even though they've been fantastic. But the Grand Cherokee is my daily driver now so I can get a little crazy on the aggressiveness. Should clear anything I choose with no issue as I'll have 7" of total lift between the Rancho 4" suspenion lift and the 3" body lift.

Might take me about 2-3 months to have it all installed, but I'll have pics and dyno numbers when I'm done, I promise...

BTW: anybody looking for a set of 35x12.5x17 FCIIs with a good 90%+ tread on 'em before I ebay them...

Definately post up some dyno numbers when you get it done. The cam doesnt seem to expensive really, I just wouldn't know where to begin with the install on the truck and then the tune up after, I've done them with 350's before but that was a while ago and on a carb system so it was a little easier to adjust. If you do it yourself post up a DIY if there isn't one up already.

Teach, the cam, and go withs are not expensive at all, even with the custom grind, the Cam is $350. By doing the very stout Mopar 6.1 SRT8 springs at under $4 each, retainers at like $1 each and push rods at like 70 cents each. So for all the hardware I'll have $100 using the SRT8 stuff as opposed to about $350 in a set of Comp Beehives and hardware.

The 6.1 SRT 8 is certainly beefy enough for this cam.

It's really the $600 for the tuner and then paying for custom tunes that jacks it up.

But a Cam such as the Comp 260 gives nice HP & Torque gains and can run with just the Superchips or Diablo tuners...

The biggie here is saving the $800 quoted labor price...

As far as a price for the tires, let me think about it and I'll let y'all know, but remember, I have a little health issue and am dealing with a bigger family health issue right now, it could be 3 months before I have the lift on and these tires off. Not that they'll be any more worn, I average less than 6k miles a year on the truck. It's just you'll have to wait till probaby April'ish for the tires...

well I started caring for the folks over 2 years ago, quit work, ain't worked steady since, but have watched every damn penny like scrooge. Ain't done hardly a thing for myself in that whole time except for escape up to the farm a couple times to hunt/fish.
So I just said the heck with it, always wanted that cam, screw it. Worry about putting the money back into my retirement later.........
