Default catalytic converter

I have a 05 2500 CTD. Just curious if it a good idea to remove the catalytic converter to let the motor breathe better. Will it void my warranty?

Removing the cat will void your warranty and kill your emissions.

wont kill emissions to take it out

but it will void the warranty, but realy. . a cat on a diesel

besides, if you look at the size of it it's HUGE!!!

just leave it on and get yourself a power pup and crank it to max

There are so many Deisel upgrades, it's not even funny. You're better of leaving the cat alone.

yea, a CAT on a diesel is next to pointless. Our friend with a diesel (though it isn't a dodge) pulled the cat off his truck and gave it a straight pipe past the muffler that dumps straight onto the rear tires (for heating them in cold weather) and he has a 10,000+ pound trailer and a camper in the bed, we were with him and he did 80 in it no problem getting ~14 MPG (unchipped).

ok, i'll quit rambling now. but a cat on a diesel is worthless.

it only voids warranty on exhaust system, droped my egts 150 deg ,and it smells like a real diesel now instead of propane burner, besides that 2004.5 with the 600 motor was the 1st year w/ a cat ,its personal preference
