Default center console storage area....

I have a 2002 Ram QCSB 4x4 however my model truck did not come with the storage area under the center console. I believe the only ones that did also came with the flat plastic storage area under the rear seat. My question is has anyone modded one into their truck, or installed a factory one? I would like to see some pictures if anyone out there has done this. Thanks!

well yes and no. I am not referring to the arm rest/console, however there is a storage area under the seat which is below the arm rest/console on some models. That is something I would like to fab up.

That is with the seat package. You could ask Parts/Service on this site which seat package it is, because I know that he knows which one. There are some other members, I just don't remember who. I don't know if you can purchase one, you should, just check local classifieds for parted out trucks or somewhere for the seats.

That's kinda stupid that Dodge does that with the center console.

That's a nice writeup, but I think he's referring to the second "hidden" storage compartment under the middle seat. Mine has that, but I'm not sure what the official name for it is.

i still dont why dodge would make a console in the seat and not have a latch for it. wouldnt it be cheaper just to make a blank center seat with no sort of storage area inside?

I think that it's called Premium Seats or Premium Seat Package. Something like that. I looked in my build sheet, and don't see anything except rear underseat storage. But that's the rear, so that doesn't affect it, since all of them have underseat storage.
