Understand your pain... My first oil change on my Magnum SRT wasn't much fun either. I heard the filters from the factory were on there tight and MAN were they right. All is well though, did my first oil change. My 2006 Mag SRT now just turned 5350 MILES!!! Sits in the garage most of the time!!! So far I have NEVER driven it in the rain!

i've had issues too, especially after having the change done at the dealer. solved my problem with this tool...

the harder it is to turn, the more it bites...i suppose you could crush the filter if it won't budge at all, but that would take a lot of force.

hmm... havn't ever had a problem gettin a filter off of my ram or the old man's 06... even the factory one was on the way it should.. about a half turn past hand tight.. first oil change on each truck took approximately 20-30 min.. Everytime since i do the same thing put a little oil on the seal, hand tight, half turn with filter wrench and i'm done. no issues since

i experienced the ol' "screwdriver through the oil filter" method - and I have the scars to prove it! LOL That filter gave way and my arm was toast....awesome!

I didn't know "tight" and "*****" could be used together.

I use something like this when I change oil at work, I've never had a problem with anything but rx8's since they hide the filter behind the intake.
