That sucks man but it is good that you were able to finally get it taken care of. Could you find any reason why the filter was so hard to get off, did they use lock tite on that too?

You could have just taken a small screw driver, stabbed into the side and turned the whole thing. Worked for me. Just make sure you have the right size oil filter. LOL. And the locktite on the plug screw, WTF!! Some dumb backyard mechanic it sounds like.

well i heard it was done at a garage the screw driver thing i was told about but the whole thing had already collapsed at that point the only reason i can think of y the filter didnt come off was no oil on gasket and overtightened cause it to melt to the block thats my guess anyway....

I don't mean to sound mean but a little punctuation would make an easier read

Yea, I agree with that. Being in more than one sentence makes it easier to read.

I can never got my filter off with regular tools. 3 changes ago, I tried a pipe wrench. Worked like a charm. Grabs the filter without damaging it.

Heck, I even use the K&N filter with the wrench adapter on it and that was crap. Yes, I oil my gasket everytime too.

Yeah mine was a tight ***** to get off too! I was the one who put it on and I didnt torque the hell outta it and I oil the seal I guess they just like to be tricky. My last oil change reminded me of the rookie mistake I almost made. Luckily I saw the old gasket on the block before I decided to toss a new filter on

My factory filter was a PITA to remove too. After an hour I said F it and had the dealer do it for free...after some choice words of course. Haven't had a prob with it since....lube the gasket and hand tighten.
