Default Milky Antifreeze..?

So I changed the thermostat and water pump when my truck overheated, and now the new radiator comes in tomorrow since I've resolved that the old one is shot. So, what does it mean if my coolant (orange stuff) comes out a orangish yellowish whitish milky color? Is it just from being boiled or cooked when it was overheating? Thanks for any advice guys.

Time for some new coolant. How many miles are on the truck?

Does your oil cap have any milky residue on it also? What does your oil look like?

Sounds like you got some oil in your anti-freeze, You changed your thermostat, rad, and waterpump due to the truck overheating, But the actual problem could be a cracked head or a blown head gasket. I may sound pessimistic, but i usually dont throw parts into something unless i know what is wrong

Yup i'm with these guys....you've got bigger problems than just your cooling system. Your overheat more than likely caused a warped/cracked head...did you pull over as soon as the gauge maxed out? Check your oil but if I was a betting man i'd bet it was milkshake time.

Common issue with the coolant. There are many threads of this on Chrysler forums. Something in the coolant is dissolving parts in the cooling system. Sorry I can't be more specific -- it's been a while since I was on those forums.

You're probably talking about how long life coolant turns acidic when exposed to too much air over a period of time. Long life coolant or not i'd flush every 30-40k miles...or at the very least get some pH strips and check the coolant now and then.

If you warped a head or blew a gasket .when the engine is running oil gets pushed into the cooling system since it has the higher pressure.,,then when you shut the engine off, coolant goes into the oil system...then you are screwed

depending on the miles on your truck, if you find out it does need head gaskets or other parts it might be cheaper in the long run to get a new low mile junkyard engine.
