Question Removing Grill Frame

I know there are the screws to remove but there seems to be an adhesive holding the grill frame to the hood. Is that the case. I am talking about the chrome + outer grill surround. How do you get it off?

I took mine off to paint it black. All I did was take off all the 10mm nuts and disconnect the hood release. It pulled off after that.

i dont what youre talking about when you mean the adhesive. when i replaced my grill frame, all there was jus the screws. there was that rubber around the top of the grill so it didnt bang against the hood when you screwed it tight.

I am talking about the rubber around the top - is it sticky? I removed all of the screws once, and it seemed to be still stuck on there. Maybe I missed a screw or something. Just wondering....

The "gasket" still had some adhesion when I removed my grill. I would recommend a plastic chisel, rather than a razorblade.

I did the same as WhiteBerry. Once all the bolts are out, gently pull on one side or the other where it's stuck and carefully insert the blade. Cut and gently pull at the same time and it will pop right off with no problem. Or at least mine did.

Good luck!

I have not tried yet. I was planning on painting the grill soon, and was just preparing.
