Dealer workorder question
Hey guys,
I have an odd question. I have a friend with a 2005 Dodge ram 1500. He took it into the dealer a couple of weeks ago and ended spending $2,200 dollars to have the transmission replaced. When he picked up he either never got a workorder or lost the one they gave him. He went back to the dealership to get a copy of the workorder so he could claim the $2,200 on his taxes. The looked up his info and couldn't find the work order. He can't get them to make another order up for them so now he can't claim it on his taxes.
So my questions, How could the Dealer ship lose a workorder and why would they just not write one up for him. Is it possible the guy he talked was just being lazy? I just can't see a dealership losing a work order.
Its not really a big deal as its just for his taxes, It just took me by surprise that a dealership could lose a workorder.

yeah they have a copy of it....need to have the VIN to get a new trans for the truck.....they are either stupid and don't know how to work their own computer system or just lazy and don't want to give him a copy
What about the invoice/receipt? The last time I went to a dealer for work, I got a laser-printed receipt, even though it was under warranty. I got a copy of the service ticket, too. Sounds fishy to me.
sounds like a load of **** to me. they definatly have it on the computer, they have to. hes gotta go in there and make a stink, tell him to go talk to the service manager.

I am going to guess that it is they are too lazy to print him a copy of it.
