problems with 05 hemi
Dude, if you've never cleaned your TB or at least had it cleaned at 53k miles this is undoubtedly your problem. I notice my truck getting a tad sluggish after about 12k miles without cleaning it. I've made it a point to do mine every 12k now...
OK the throttle body is spotless now and I just took it for a test run but that did not fix it. Also a little more info it will idle all day long with no problems at all. Anybody got any other ideas?
Yes I did just like the post on pg 1. The backside was pretty dirty but I cleaned every little bit off it looked brand new when I put it back on.
A partially clogged EGR could also account for sluggish performance, but I'd imagine you'd pop a CEL before it got bad enough to effect the truck that much.
I know the stalling issue sometimes just takes a reset of the TPS, have you tried that?

Guess I should explain why.Your problem is happening at the highest vacuum, under slow accelleration or slow cruise, when the engine needs air the most. If you sucked up moisture in a severely cold region, it can freeze on the filter, or it might just be clogged with dirt.
Heres what I did today.
1.Bought a new air filter(old one was only 3mths old but figured it was worth a try. - Ran it still no differece-
2.pulled fuse # 23 and disconnected the neg on battery.
3. Used sea foam in the vacuum lines at the break booster.
I ran it around after that and it actually did seem better but still can feel some hesitation at stop/starts and when I keep at a constant speed around 25 mph I can feel the motor bogging down a little. Watching my RPMS they go from about 1000 to 1200.
Also it seems that it doesnt have the same HP it used to if I step on it hard it used to jerk me back rolling or not now it still goes but not like it used to.
I am about out of ideas. I am afraid it will just be a waste of money if I take it to the dealer with no CEL and if they drive it they may or may not notice it depending on how bad it is acting up that day. This sucks.

I changed the oil the other day and took it to auto zone today for disposal. I did not notice anything in the oil when I was dumping it out. I was thinking about a compression test and fuel pressure test also. I may have to give that a try this weekend. It is supposed to snow pretty good tomorrow and I dont have a garage so well I may have to run to moms to use her garage.
