Question Combining lift kits???

ok so here's my ideal and i want to know if its safe to do this. I have a 03' 1500 quadcab HEMI. I already have the rough country 3in. spindle lift kits w/ the shocks and rear blocks. my question is could i put on a coil spacer kit to get a little bit more lift or would this cause issues with the spindle lift. Has anyone done this before. I know lots of people do suspension kits and body lifts toghter but can you combine suspension lift kits. basicly what im thinking about doing is getting a coil spacer kit used to level a ram to get another 1+ of lift up front.

thanks for any help!

what exactly is a spindle lift kit? If it doesn't do anything to the control arms, then no you can't put in a spacer. The control arms/ball joints will be at too much of an angle to work.

A lift spindle moves the wheel bearing hub mounting point lower on the spindle thus lifting the truck. The spindles are the same size as oem. basicly the mounting point for the wheel bearing hub is 3 inches lower on the lift spindles, but the rest of the steering components built up the same as oem. hope that helps

for example rough country has a 2in. coil spring leveling kit which is only the new coil springs.

ok so here are the parts that are on the truck now!

the lift spindles

the shocks

front end with parts on

the rear end with parts on

I don't think you can combine the spacers w/ a suspension lift.

I understand Im giong to comparing apples with oranges here but...

When I had my jeep, I put a 3 inch lift on it. Before installing my lift, I had a 2" spacers on it. After installing the lift, and giving it settle time, it sat about an inch higher in the front. It bugged me to no end, so I reinstalled my spacers. Worked fabulous. Was a tight fit, but it worked. Never had any problems with it, and ran almost 40,000 miles on it before it sold.

Im not saying its ok, but im saying it can be done for sure.

PS... jeep was a straight axle with coils... no spindle...

I believe some 2nd gen guys have used spacers with suspension lifts. Don't know how it works though.
