**03 Ram 2500 REAR END VIBRATION HELP**
hello, i have noticed that when im driving on the highway for a 10min or longer when i get off the highway and take a turn no matter if its left or right the truck makes a vibration in the rear end just at take off in 1st gear. if i drive straight it doesnt do it unless you hammer it, but once it shifts into 2nd gear no vibration no matter how hard you hit the gas! at 1st i thought it was the limited slip and the tires were spinning on sand, but its pretty much happening all the time now if i drive long distances! it doent happend any other time. PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS
Rear drive shaft u-joints? Is the rear diff fluid level ok? Tires the same size? Really going to need to so investigations yourself to see if there is something going on. Was any work or maintenance done to the rear end recently?
yes i have had the rear diff fluid changed, i dont know if they put that additive in or not, what is it? also how do you know if its LSD? thanks
Check the glovebox for a tag that will give gear ratio and if it is limited slip. If it is LSD, grab a tube of friction modifier and put it in. I did my own diff services and used Amsoil severe gear lube and got a chattering in the rear end mostly when turning but sometimes when going straight. It was very noticeable when towing! I added a tube of friction modifier and it has been great since. The chattering went away within 100 miles!

LSD's on the 2500's don't use the additive. Find out what type gear oil they used--the diff comes from the factory with synthetic in it. It sounds like you're getting clutch chatter in the diff---may be the gear oil they used---if they put the friction modifier in there---drain it and fill with synthetic---no modifier.
i checked in the glove box it says: anti-slip 4:10 gear ratio
i dont know the diffrence, but the more i think about it the more im thinking it started happening after i had it serviced, never happend before it! so should i change it or add the additive? whats the best gear oil to use? thanks jc
