Hey kicker since you have had both tuners which one do you think makes the truck shift better. I'm having trouble deciding on which one to get.

I too have the Diablo unit and am running the canned 93 octane tune and it runs great. Since the unit became available in december I have had absolutely no problems with it, shifting, fuel or otherwise. And I have run it pretty hard more than a few times with almost 60,000 on the odo so I would be willing to bet anyone that has experienced problems with the predator and their truck malfunctioning was due to them altering the canned tune beyond their understanding/capability.

Yeah, I can't see how these guys are blowing trannies, but I've got about 3 weeks before my cam gets here to figure out if I'm going to trust a Diablo with custom tunes to tame it or not.
Improper fuel trims will destroy an engine, but how the hell would it eat a tranny?
I've got a dyno in front of me right now of a fairly stock (CAI and Cat back exhaust) truck with the Predator 93 canned tune running on it. Cron1 drops the timing to 14 degrees at the shift, which is only about half the advance Superchips puts in on it's 91 octane tune.
Seems to me Superchips is removing about twice as much TM as Diablo at this point. So I can't understand where the blown trannies are coming from. Only thing I can figure is they are more aggressive on line pressure in the actual tranny? I don't know, but like I said, they got about three weeks to figure it out or I got to make a major decision here...

There are not even any tranny adjustments other than WOT shift point at this time for the Hemi Trucks. I had shift pressures and TM % adjustments on the F150 unit. I don't think that DS has changed much in the tranny dept yet. Maybe a little faster solenoid speed on the shifts, but nothing major that would destroy anything.

I had to update mine when I got it. No big deal. Just took a few minutes. Mine had the 9r02 Crom, but the truck needed the DCX cal update.

Diablo is REALLY starting to **** me off now! Yesterday I read two posts on their forum where two separate guys had their trannies die while running the Predator. Now one guys was the infamous "426" guy, but the other one had an '07, pretty much stock with a cat back and CAI. He pretty much was just asking if he returned the truck to his stock tune, could the dealer tell he had a tuner. He was gonna have it towed in and try to go the warranty route.
Not only did Diablo choose not to respond, but those posts are gone! If there is not a problem, I'd kinda think they'd defend themselves rather than to delete the posts. They had an easy out with the 426 Hemi dude, hell the tuner ain't made for it, but the guy with the '07, that's total BULLSH*T to delete his post!
That kinda has my goat more than a little. I'm getting closer to just going the SC and piggyback route for the cam until SCT offers full support for the '04 Hemi...

Man, he isn't the first one to have his post deleted. That has been a common complaint lately from guys who have posted anything about a problem with the DSP.

Crap. Ya'll have me worried as he!!. I just got my Predator last night and have not installed it for fear of tearing my D@#m truck up. I hate to have to try and sell a brand new tuner to get something else. Looking for ideas here.

Any advice would be great.
