Default SuperChips and warranty question???

I have a 2008 5.7 hemi that I just bought with 200 miles on the clock and I was wanting a SuperChips programmer but I keep reading that if you took it to the dealer for warranty work blown motor, tranny etc that they could still see that you tampered with the computer settings even if you had returned it back to the stock setup that the SuperChips offer, IS THIS TRUE? I have a lifetime warranty with the drivetrain and don't want to do something wrong to make it voided.

you can put it back to stock before you take it back to the dealer. then they will never know you had one

You should be able to reset it as long as you have power and your computer isn't fried. You dont have to start the truck to set the tunes so a blown engine shouldn't be a problem. But if you are still worried that that is the case then just tell them to prove that the programer caused the engine to blow, again read Magnuson-Moss. And once you remove it its gone from the system, I do not believe that these trucks can/will log information like that.

There shouldn't be any trace of the tune left....just to be sure return it to stock a few weeks before bringing the truck in. This will give you time to do several complete drive cycles.
