why is it that everybody out there are getting bad gas mileage i have a 05 dodge ram 2500 5.7l cold air intakequad cab and im getting 14 in town 19.9 hwy no superchip yet but in the works .whats going on people
That sounds a little high for your truck being a 2500 QC but I guess it's possible if you accelerate/cruise very slowly....your gears and whether it's a 4x4 play a role too. What speed do you cruise at on the highway? I get good mileage IMO but my truck is a lot smaller than yours...I get around 16 city/23ish hwy (speed limit) under my best driving and ideal conditions. Under "normal" driving I get high 14's city 21ish highway going 75mph.
i baby mine and at 9000 miles i'm getting about 11 if it is a true 100% in town and the best i have got on the highway was 17 with the cruise set at 65. i don't think it can be driven any easier than i drive it. normal everyday driving is about 13.

Are you a newbie to the world of pickup trucks? What's so bad about 14 MPG town/20 MPG highway with a 5,500 pound pickup truck equipped with a powerful V-8? If you want good fuel economy get a VW Jetta or a Mini.
