Default Speaker setup help

Ok guys real quick question for ya... i didnt get the infinity sound package with my truck which has the 4 speakers in the doors and the 3 in the dash i believe.. well i wanna put speakers or at least tweeters in the dash where the speakers are suppose to be located in the dash right next to the windshield.. how do i get into that portion of the dash to install the speakers.. does it just snap off like the main radio dash or do i have to take the whole dash appart to even get to that location?

by the way 08 dodge ram... i dont think it matters since even the older 03 and up have the 3 speaker vents in the dash...

Thanks guys..

I don't think you have speakers in your dash. There are vents for the defroster that may look like speaker grills, but they're not. You should have a 6.5" speaker in each door.

TTT. I'm also interested in doing this but want to see if anyone else has done it yet. What would be the best approach?

Carefully just pry up the panel closest to the windshield. You will have to run your own wires to the speakers. I spliced in behind the radio because I had the door panels off replacing the stock door speakers (which by the way are 6x9 in the front doors and 6.5" in the back doors), so I knew the wire colors for each side.
I have Pioneer 4 way 6x9's in the front doors, Sony Xplode 6.5" way's in the rear doors and Infinity Reference 3.5" in the dash using the supplies bass blocker resistor so they don't blow.
I wouldn't bother changing the rear door speakers though, they get very little power and have really heavy magnets and sound as good as the Sony's.

thanks lsman for answering that question for me... where did you get the bass blocker resistor? and also how many watts is your pioneers in the front doors cuz i tryed putting infinity 500W 6x9's in there and the back of the speakers were to wide cuz of the big magnet...

yep just be nice and easy and pry up. Idk if all the mounting stuff is below but that's something a competent person can fab up anyway so good luck man.

and be glad you didn't get infinity... the infinity system is a waste of money. just makes aftermarket a PITA

They are the Walmart Pioneers. I don't have the number right off, but they all stock them for about $69.00. They fit fine. Just be sure to use the plastic spacer off of the oem speakers to seal the hole in the door properly.
The bass blocker resistor came with the Infinity speakers in the dash.

I also tried the Infinity Kappa 6x9's in the doors and they would not fit either, so I sent them back to Crutchfield because they showed to fit. I wasn't going to cut up the doors on my 08 RAM to upgrade the speakers.

I have been thinking about putting small subs in the rear doors maybe like 8's but I have gotten in there to see how much room we have.
