'03 Transmission Issue Very Wierd
#11
..let us know what's up...I had the p700, p734, p735 not too long ago and it made the truck run rough (yup, I have a diablo)... but, in my case i think the overdrive clutch's fried...I unloaded the programmer and downloaded new updates for it and it runs close to normal now...but it still needs a little rebuilding in the over drive area. I think it was more my driving habits that did my tranny in (very aggressive, go to track frequently, drive 100+ mph frequently)... and i got good use considering that it has over 150k...and still going..

This really SUCKS!!!
Heard back from the shop, $700.00 in labor to track down and find a broken wire!!!
I have not gone in to pick it up yet, but I am having a hard time believing it took that long to find it, given the fact that the TCM code should have given them a pretty good indication of where to start.....

It totally sucks that a wire break is your problem.
That labour charge is terrible, especially in you circumstances.
Good luck with everything though and best wishes for the job hunting.

Ya know, if it was June I would have had a hard time believing a broken wire. And I still do... sorta. But we had a TON of snow not too long ago, service manager showed me the new wire and I can see where, possibly maybe a chunk of ice tagged the old wire and knocked off the insulation and it shorted out and caused the problem....
I dunno- all said and done I feel like I got f!sted, but.... the truck is running good....
Couple of funny things, tho- usually the service department will call for a follow up after service- not this time. I think they might have a clue that I was NOT happy.
Another thing- there is a noticeable leak in the power steering system that they did not even mention at all. I have that issue under control and will fix it, just makes me think they let that go figuring I had been hosed enough on the "broken wire"...
Anyway, in the long run maybe this is a good thing, I have decided to go back to school for- of all things- auto mechanics!
