I am new to the site and a new Ram owner, got a 07 Quad cab with tow package and thunder road. The thing that has me concernd is that when starting off from a stop when it changes gears from 1st to 2nd its like it falls on its face, 2nd up to 5th feels fine and if I put it in the tow/haul mode it does not do this. Is this normal. I tried to compare to my dad's but his is 03, 4 speed. It maybe normal. Possibly a shift upgrade like the Supperchip might help. Thanks for any repiles.

Sounds like the normal torque management working. It backs the power off when the transmission shifts to help make it last longer.

 

Feels like it wants to stop then take off kindof, but with tow/haul it does not do it or if it does not as noticable. hard to explane. Like I said with tow/haul it does not doit or not as noticable. This is the fisrt dodge and automatic truck I have owened

 

are you accelerating slowly? It's possible it's going into v-4 mode and then it would have less power, and feel like it was accelerating even slower or falling on it's face.

 

not real slow 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, if I accel hard it is not noticed, but just normal take off. not real sure about v-4 mode, is this on a 07 hemi
