That's a sick vid....I would be pretty upset if my supercharged ford couldnt spank a n/a hemi...but then again i would never buy a ford truck...

A guy down the road from me has a lightning but he never drives it...he rolls a jk wrangler all the time that has some cool mods to it. I always tell my ford buddy that he (the lightning/jk guy) knows whats up...lol

I believe the newer lightnings had a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds or so. The SRT-10 was 5.5 - 6.0. A 2009 Ram Crew SLT is 7.6. So, that should about tell you how well you'd do against a Lightning. It's like when a Mustang wanted to race me in the vette - sometimes it's not even worth trying.

As for the other topic, about racing the lightning, depending on the year, you may have had a chance.

First gen Lightning (93-95) - 0-60mph in 7.49sec (couldn't find a 1/4 mile time)
Second Gen Lightning (99) - 0-60mph in 5.8sec, 1/4 mile in 14.3sec
Second Gen Lightning (2001 and up) - 0-60mph in 5.2sec, 1/4 mile in 13.9sec

 

Here is a full list of stock cars & trucks you do not want to race unless you know for a fact your 0-60 times are under 6 seconds (I think the list only goes up to 06' or 07' model years)

well im been messing with my truck and ive only tried the 0-60 times once. the best i got was 6.3 on the 87 tune. i can probably shave a couple tenths of this and maybe get it around the 5.9-6.0 area. at least thats my goal lol. the lightning was an 01-up. probably an 02.

 

Some people are saying that they won't race a lesser car cause its not even worth it (not that i am encouraging street racing...lol) but has anyone ever thought that these "lesser" cars may be modded quite a bit? I have seen vids of srt-4's keeping pace with Lambos and Ferraris...and so on. Who knows...that mustang that you don't race in your viper because its a lesser car might be s/c and putting down 800hp...

 

that lingenfelter corvette time has got to be wrong. 1.97 sec. 0-60 does not sound right. Even the 1000 hp venom viper was only 2.3 which I also think seems kinda low, Maybe if it has slicks or something on it either could pull low to mid 2 second 0-60 times but under 2 seconds is unbelievable.
