The h/o's are a plug n play mod, just not worth having. I felt more gain with my fastman throttle body over the cams.

What upgrades to the heads do you need to get the best gain from the H.O. cams? I have seen on other forums where people said you need to upgrade your intake manifold with the H.O. cams.

Ported heads. I thought about doing this but that is too much money for me to spend on them. IMO, I just dont see how having ported heads will suddenly wake up the h/o cams if you ask me. Either the power is there or not.

When they say about upgrading of the manifold they are talking about the h/o manifold. Which are really hard to find since they are no longer available for purchase new. Im sure you will see a gain but dont expect to much from one. Im waiting to hear for some results from the 2008 4.7 manifold myself.

ya i plan to port my heads , and switch out my tuning with sct ....if this doesnt make those h/o cams wake up , im defantely going to switch to the 212x because im hearing those are better for highly modded 4.7's......but i agree with h/o statements made earlier as well....i didnt see much gain after install.....but i will give them a chance

Just curious, do the 4.7's have a 'lope' to them with the aftermarket cams? I know mod motors dont lope too much, unless serious cams are in there. At least from my experience with the 2v 'stangs, they dont sound as aggressive after a cam swap as the pushrods do.

Keep the info coming, I love learning, although it is a bit discouraging. Thats a whole lotta work just to = a stock hemi. Hell, I would almost rather just drop the big dime on a srt (6.1L) swap, unless the eaton/whipple projects come through with LOTS of success. Then that would be badass......

I was thinking about doing the 206, super chips, fastman TB, a new highflow y pipe, an electric fan, and a 180 t stat. would this be enough to tame a 206?

im not sure on that one ....that would be a good one to ask airram for sure....i think he said with 206's you need ported heads , sct (to take real advantage of those cams) , headers , and ya the 70 mm.... but im not to sure
